Arty Summer – Montréal

Summer, a season when life goes smoother and people can enjoy free time and vacations.

Summer, a time to go somewhere else, physically or mentally.

Art and culture are a means of escape, providing a one-way ticket to discovery and an opportunity to deeply nourish our spirit and inner selves.

This summer, ArtWe invites you to embark on a remote journey into the universe of our local artists. It’s a little trip, geographically speaking, but a long way away in terms of creativity.

This selection brings together 7 works by Montréal artists that cost from $75 to $1,200.

Contemporary art made accessible.

Sandra Boorne : A Piece of Montréal

Neighborhood: Le Sud-Ouest

Sandra is a talented local artist who is fascinated with her neighborhood in the southwest part of Montréal. Her Neo-Impressionist style, combined with her deep historical knowledge of the city’s streets and buildings, sets her art apart. Anyone who has ever lived in Montréal will recall with pleasure the spirit of the city captured in each of her canvases.

Owning a piece of art by Sandra Boorne is like owning a little piece of Montréal itself!

Shaune Thompson : Iconic Clichés

Neighborhood: Le Sud-Ouest

Shaune is a fine art photographer living in Montreal. She was already part of our Spring Selection, and we chose her again this summer because her photography is unique and iconic. In her work, we discover a Montréal personified, with a welcoming soul and its own language; a city made of color, buildings’ shapes and murals.

A safe bet for any art lover seeking original photography.

Catherine Benny : The Power of Abstraction

Neighborhood: Le Sud-Ouest

Catherine’s colorful brush strokes are no news to local art connoisseurs in Montréal; she was part of our Winter Selection a few months ago, and we are proud to showcase her works in this Summer Selection. As always, her dynamic gestures bring a great expressive power to the canvas. We observe it again in these two new works representing a big city abstract and an evocation of summer.

Simply splendid!
