Spring has arrived, sweeping away a harsh winter marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. Human activities have been deeply affected, and the art world has been shaken to its core. Yet, as often happens in times of trouble, creativity has increased ten fold.
It’s time to turn the page. Everyone at our level can participate in the reconstruction of local economic and social ties.
Let’s start by supporting local artists from our neighborhood and city by making an enriching and edifying purchase.
This spring selection brings together 12 works by Montréal artists that cost from $100 to $1,500.

Louise Sultan – Mystical Landscapes
Neighborhood: Côte-Des-Neiges
Louise Sultan’s paintings are, by her own words, « a celebration of nature purified of all human imprints ». The intensity of her color palette, comprised of dark blue, purple, and ochre carries vast depth. Her artistic sensitivity is at the origin of the almost “surrealist” atmosphere that emerges from her landscapes.

Michel Boisvert – An Insignificant World
Neighborhood: Le Sud-Ouest
« An insignificant world.
What are we people living in 2020? Insignificants who wander without goal, without reason, humanly disconnected from life, wandering in shopping centers in search of some form of satisfaction.
The visual arts that I am part of are a description of this madness that drives us all. » Michel Boisvert alias JAM

Shaune Thompson – The City’s Eyes
Neighborhood: Le Sud-Ouest
Shaune is an established photographer living in Le Sud-Ouest, Montréal. In her photographs, she catches the spirit of the city through its urban landscapes. Sometimes rusty and disused, occasionally vibrant and modern, the sceneries she depicts are always authentic.
She has an uncanny and inexplicable ability to capture the intangibles of the moment. In other words: Fine Art Photography.

Christine Marlow – Lyrical Sceneries
Neighborhood: Le Sud-Ouest
Christine Marlow’s own words are the ones best-suited to describe her art: « I don’t want to compete with the camera in the pursuit of realism, but rather create the illusion of the presence of nature ».
Natures Mosaic – 1,500 CAD
Kimono Floral – 700 CAD
Margaret Lipsey – Women’s Tales
Neighborhood: Rive-Sud
Margaret’s series Women of Strenght evokes « the courage, nobility, and determination of women. […] The image represents an ideal of who we can be, a reminder of who we once were, or a remembrance of a woman we knew. » M. Lispey
An ode to womanhood and a great piece of art.
Chloe – 1,000 CAD
